Yoga Classes

I started teaching men’s yoga after watching male relatives decline in health as they aged. I remember thinking that if I still lived nearby, maybe I could have helped — maybe I could have inspired them to take better care of themselves.

So I created a “yoga for blokes who don’t do yoga” class in a North London martial arts studio where I trained weekly — a space for men who’d never normally set foot in a yoga class. And it worked, because they trusted me, because I was one of them.

They went from thinking yoga was for people not like them, to embracing the practice and the way it made them feel afterwards – clearer, calmer and yes, gradually more flexible. It was a way of easing out overworked muscles and reducing the risk of future injury.

It ran for nearly four years, and after relocating to Somerset, I’ve brought that mission with me. I’m now running men’s classes in Frome and Bruton.

These sessions are designed with real men in mind — especially those who are stiff, curious, and maybe a bit sceptical.

What You Can Expect

  • A welcoming, no-judgement space to practise yoga within your own personal limits
  • Guidance from a teacher who gets why yoga can feel intimidating
  • A focus on mobility and strength — not showy poses or complex sequences
  • Tools to reduce stress, ease tight muscles, and support recovery

“I’ve never done yoga and I’m seriously inflexible. Are these classes for me?”

I’m in my 50s, and I’m more flexible and healthy than I’ve ever been — not because I was naturally bendy, but because I stuck with it. If you’ve ever thought yoga wasn’t for you, or you’ve tried it and left feeling worse, let me tempt you back to try again, because this is a different kind of class.

It might sound naff, but it’s a safe space where men can practice together, feel on the same page, and be taught by someone who understands where they’re coming from.

There are a lot of guys out there who need this, and maybe you’re one of them.

Try your first class today and take your first step towards a more mobile (and possibly more future-proofed) version of yourself.

“I’ve been attending Tim’s men’s yoga class for over a year, and it’s made a huge difference in my mobility. Helped me level up all my other sports like climbing. I even practice at home while getting down on the floor to build Lego with the kids. His classes are challenging yet accessible, with a practical, welcoming approach. Highly recommend for anyone looking to improve movement and strength!”

Yoga for Men

A Personal Mission

Teenagers have a lot on their plates these days — pressure from school, social media, friendships, and the general chaos of growing up. These yoga classes offer a chance to slow down, breathe, and feel a bit more grounded.

The sessions are aimed at supporting teenagers both physically and mentally — improving posture, flexibility, and strength, while also helping with things like stress and anxiety. The tone is relaxed and low-key, with clear guidance and no need for any previous experience.

No pressure, no expectations — just space to move, breathe, and feel better in your body.

“Tim has been teaching my teenage son and stepson yoga for a few months, and it’s been a huge success. They play a lot of sport and we thought it would be a great complementary practice. They love their sessions with Tim, and I would highly recommend them to any other parents of teens.”

Yoga for Teenagers

Because they need it

Not everyone wants to immerse themselves in a serious or committed yoga practice — very few do, if truth be told. That’s why I also offer classes for people with little interest in developing a self-practice or delving into yoga’s more esoteric aspects.

Even at this level, though, students often find themselves arriving at a deeper place by the end of class — a tranquil, grounded sense of inner calm.

These classes keep things simple. The guidance focuses on physical structure, along with the coordination of movement and breath.
No chanting required.

“Taking a very inflexible man, with no prior experience of yoga, through all of the basics, sorting out lifelong breathing issues, and patiently working on modifications to cater for my inflexibility. I am now at the point where I actively enjoy my yoga, and it has become an integral part of my life. Thank you Tim!”

Yoga for Everyone

start where you are

Exactly what it says on the tin. Private sessions can be arranged for individuals or small groups, offering a more personalised approach that focuses on your specific needs.

It’s a good option if you’re new to yoga and want to build confidence before joining a group class, if you’re working with an injury or health condition, or simply if your schedule makes regular classes hard to attend.

You’re welcome to come to me for sessions — this is the most affordable option. I also offer home visits (pricing varies depending on location and travel time) and online sessions for those further afield or looking for more flexibility.

Bookings can be made for one-to-one or small group sessions. If three or more adults are participating, I adjust the pricing slightly to reflect the group size.

Tim’s individual classes are amazing and were tailored to my individual needs. He always takes the time to ask what my priorities are, what I am aiming for and tries to adapt, and gives excellent guidance… besides his sharp eye for details! always surprising me with corrections… although I’m currently on a break, I’m planning to enrol for individual classes once again next April and can’t wait to see how this wonderful journey unfolds…thanks Tim!”
