How the need to fill yoga classes and make money undermined both teacher and student alike.

How did Hatha Yoga become a synonym for 'yoga for old people', or 'church hall yoga'?

Both gross and subtle states are always there, so in a sense nothing is changing.

I remember, at the age of 7 my grandad said he’d teach me to ride my bike without stabilisers.

Any boy who grew up in the 70’s, or 80’s even, will surely know the answer to that question.

“My mum does yoga”. I wish I’d been given a pound every time I’ve heard a man say that.

I’ve been asked so many times by students: ‘why don’t you make a video so we have something to follow?’. 

Well it’s taken years of dedicated practise. But the penny has finally dropped.

Perhaps a ‘few words’ on how I even came to be in position of writing about yoga.
